The submarine crews take on Stromberg’s troops inside the Liparus tanker in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). The scene was filmed at the newly constructed 007 stage at Pinewood which was built at a cost of £600,000 to specially house the tanker set.
Bond Versus Greene At Perla De Las Dunas
Bond (Daniel Craig) faces off against Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) in the burning Perla de las Dunas hotel in Quantum Of Solace (2008). Special effects coordinator Chris Corbould said: “We did many explosion, fire and collapsing-ceiling tests prior to filming. Both Daniel and Olga (Kurylenko) were involved in the tests so they were able to feel the heat intensity and get confident with the flames which allowed them to concentrate on their performance rather than being distracted by the special effects.”
Thunderball Motorbike Chase
Bond is pursued by Count Lippe in Thunderball (1965), who in turn is chased by Fiona Volpe on her Lightning BSA motorbike (with side mounted rocket launchers, of course). The sequence was filmed at Silverstone race track in England.
The Death Of Saunders in Vienna
Head of Section V, Saunders (Thomas Wheatley), falls foul of some sabotaged automatic doors in The Living Daylights (1987). The balloon that Bond (Timothy Dalton) pops has the words ’smiert spionom’ written on it, which translates as ‘death to spies’.

Zukovsky’s Caviar Factory Attack
Bond (Pierce Brosnan) is attacked by the buzz-saw-wielding helicopter at Zukovsky’s Caviar Fishery in The World Is Not Enough (1999). The scene was filmed in Pinewood’s paddock tank which had to be enlarged by 50 per cent to accommodate the huge wooden set. The deadly helicopter was originally in the script for GoldenEye (1995).
Orlebar Brown 007 Collection
Orlebar Brown have launched their third collection celebrating James Bond’s iconic style. This new collection delves back into the archive to take inspiration from more of James Bond’s most recognisable looks with a focus on resort. It includes a linen summer suit inspired by one worn by Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, a short-sleeved Thunderball Gingham Shirt with signature cotton towelling lining, classic Thunderball Stripe Shirt and Dr. No photographic print shorts featuring original film poster artwork. The new campaign was shot at GoldenEye in Jamaica, home to the villa where Ian Fleming wrote the original 12 James Bond novels. The shoot also captured Laughing Waters, where the iconic scene of Honey Ryder emerging from the sea in Dr. No was set.
The collection is available at 007store.com and orlebarbrown.com
N.Peal Launches No Time To Die Sweater
N.Peal has announced the launch of its Navy Ribbed Army Sweater, as worn by 007 in No Time To Die.
The design is modelled on British Military Commando sweaters. To develop the piece, N.Peal worked with No Time To Die costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb.
“We wanted to give Bond a unique look in specific scenes of the film,” begins Larlarb, “And yet the piece had to be action-ready. It needed to be a strong silhouette, something that harks back to his military past and which also had a timeless quality to it as well.”
The sweater and a cashmere T-shirt as worn by Madeleine Swann in No Time To Die are available at 007store.com now.
Bond Tails Goldfinger In Switzerland
On this day in 1964 James Bond writer Ian Fleming passed away – the same day that filming finished on Goldfinger. In today’s clip Bond (Sean Connery) follows Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) along the Furkha Pass in Switzerland. Director Guy Hamilton said: “During the course of filming I had to sneak off and search the whole of Switzerland in one weekend, to find a wiggly road where Bond could tail Goldfinger.”
Tom Ford Dresses 007 In No Time To Die
It’s been announced that James Bond will be wearing TOM FORD in the 25th 007 film No Time To Die. This will be the fourth consecutive time that Ford has dressed Daniel Craig as the iconic character. TOM FORD worked closely with Costume Designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb to provide Made-to-Measure tailored clothing and casual wear including eveningwear, suits, shirts, silk accessories and denim for the James Bond character. TOM FORD has also dressed Nomi, played by Lashana Lynch, with select tailor-made jackets, tops and accessories.
Tom Ford, CEO and Creative Director of the brand, has commented: “I could not be happier to be dressing Daniel Craig as James Bond again in the upcoming film, No Time To Die. James Bond epitomizes the TOM FORD man in his elegance, style and love of luxury. It is an honor to move forward with this iconic character.”
007 Drives The ‘Bondola’ in Venice
On this day in 1978 principal photography started on Moonraker. In today’s scene Bond drives the gondola (or Bondola as the crew called it) through Venice’s Mark’s Square. Roger Moore said: “There were thousands of tourists who didn’t know there was a film going on. I didn’t have that much control over it, so they eventually gave me a little klaxon to warn people.”
