No Time To Die Safin Mask Prop Replica
Own the mask of 007’s mysterious adversary
007Store and Factory Entertainment have announced the release of a collectors prop replica. The Noh mask as worn by the enigmatic Safin (Rami Malek) in No Time To Die has been recreated and made by hand in a numbered series of 500 exclusively for 007Store. The original film mask was designed by Costume Designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb, taking inspiration from traditional Japanese Noh masks.
“The intention was to create a ‘pure’, expressionless, clean mask to counter the aggression of the character,” Suttirat says, “but also, to underscore a camouflage necessity in the pivotal scene set in the snowy Norwegian landscape. Safin appears in snow gear – white from head to toe in a white landscape – hidden in plain sight until not hidden, and quite startling when moved out of the snow and into the interior.“
The replica was crafted using the original digital 3D model files used to create the film props. The Factory Entertainment team were also able to extensively study the original props in the Bond Archive to ensure that the paint and other post-casting hand-finished details are exact.
The mask comes with a numbered plaque, wooden display stand, booklet and certificate of authenticity.
