To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of GOLDFINGER, EON Productions have commissioned a one-off gold-plated third scale replica of James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5 which Christie’s will offer in an online auction to benefit the NSPCC.
Manufactured by prop-makers Propshop, using 3D scans of the full size DB5, the model has 24-carat gold-plated detailing and radio controlled machine guns, bullet proof shield, revolving number plate and is signed by Bond Production Designer Sir Ken Adam. Also included in the auction are a unique GOLDFINGER 18K yellow gold Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra wristwatch, a first edition GOLDFINGER book, an original GOLDFINGER British cinema poster and soundtrack LP signed by Dame Shirley Bassey and a special gold edition of Taschen’s The James Bond Archives signed by Daniel Craig.
“I have a warm place in my heart for GOLDFINGER because it was the first film I worked on,” says Michael G. Wilson. “Cubby was a big supporter of the NSPCC and so are Barbara and I, so it is great that people can go online for the next nine days and not only support a great charity but get a piece of the Bond history.”
The online auction runs from 8th September to 17th September (the anniversary of the 1964 World Premiere of GOLDFINGER).
