SKYFALL Earns Five Oscar Nominations

Bond 50th Anniversary Celebration Also Planned

SKYFALL has been nominated for five Academy Awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences it was announced this morning in Los Angeles. Bond’s 23rd outing received nominations for Best Cinematography (Roger Deakins), Best Original Score (Thomas Newman), Best Original Song (music and lyrics by Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth), Best Sound Editing (Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers) and Best Sound Mixing (Scott Millan, Greg P. Russell, Stuart Wilson). 

The 85th Oscars ceremony will also include a televised tribute to the James Bond franchise. 

“We are very happy to include a special sequence on our show saluting the Bond films on their 50th birthday,” said this year’s producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. “Starting with DR NO back in 1962, the 007 movies have become the longest-running motion picture franchise in history and a beloved global phenomenon.”

The ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on February 24th.
